January 15, 2025
Dear Members of Our Campus Community,
In my campus memo of September 12, 2024, I announced that after more than eight years of outstanding leadership, Vice Chancellor for Research Joe Incandela has decided to return to his faculty position.
I am pleased to announce that the search advisory committee for our next Vice Chancellor for Research has been formed, and that Professors Claudio Campagnari and Tresa Pollock have graciously agreed to serve as co-chairs of the committee.
In consultation with our campus community, we are moving forward quickly to appoint an interim vice chancellor. I look forward to making an announcement about this appointment in the very near future.
I sincerely thank our Executive Vice Chancellor, Academic Senate Chair and Committee on Committees, administrative and staff colleagues, and students who have been part of the consultation process in the formation of this committee. I also thank each of our committee members and the co-chairs of the committee for their individual commitments to help our campus with this important search. The roster of the search advisory committee is listed below.
I would like to take this opportunity again to thank Vice Chancellor Incandela for his visionary leadership of our Office of Research and his many exceptional contributions to our university.
Sincerely,
Henry T. Yang
Chancellor
