Dear Members of Our Campus Community,

I write to share with you the formation of the search advisory committee for our next Dean of the College of Engineering. In my previous memo, I shared with you that after ten years of extraordinary leadership and service as our Dean of Engineering, Rod Alferness decided to retire. We are grateful that Professor Tresa Pollock has graciously agreed to serve as Interim Dean of our College of Engineering as we search for our next dean.

Following consultation with our faculty of the College of Engineering, Academic Senate Chair, Executive Vice Chancellor, administrative colleagues, and other members of our campus community, I am pleased to announce the search advisory committee for our next Dean of the College of Engineering. I am grateful that Professors Glenn Fredrickson and Linda Petzold have graciously agreed to serve as the co-chairs of the committee. I am also grateful to our committee members listed below for their willingness to devote their valuable time and wisdom to help our campus with this important task.

Sincerely,

Henry T. Yang
Chancellor
