Dear Members of our Campus Community,

I write to you in light of the tragic shooting that occurred last night in Thousand Oaks, which is home for some of our faculty, staff, and students. Our campus is saddened by this devastating loss of life.

At a time when some of our UC Santa Barbara community members may be personally affected by this horrific event, we wish to express our care, concern, and support, and remind you of resources that may be of help.

Our Academic & Staff Assistance Program, located on the third floor of the Student Affairs & Administrative Services Building, is available Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and can be reached at (805) 893-3318. More information is available at https://www.hr.ucsb.edu/asap.

Our students have been contacted by our Division of Student Affairs with information about resources available to them. Should you be concerned about a student in distress, please call (805) 893-3030 or visit http://www.sa.ucsb.edu/responding-to-distressed-students/welcome.

UC Santa Barbara cares deeply for our community – on campus and beyond. We are here for each of you, especially our staff, faculty, students, friends, and neighbors in Thousand Oaks.

Sincerely,

Henry T. Yang
