January 17, 2018

Dear Members of our Campus Community,

We are part of the good news in Santa Barbara County. Through UC Santa Barbara’s ongoing support of United Way, we are invested in helping to provide a hopeful future for children, adults, and families in our community.

United Way of Santa Barbara County focuses on improving the health, education, and financial stability of our local friends and neighbors through giving, advocacy, and volunteerism. For over 60 years, UC Santa Barbara has been proud to partner with United Way to raise resources and mobilize volunteers to serve those most at risk.

We ask that you again join us for our annual United Way campaign. The 2018 campaign kicks off January 17 and will run through February 23, continuing our theme of “Join the cause.United for Education.” Your contributions will support education enrichment programs, scholarships for students and parents, free children’s books, and much more.

Every year, we are inspired by our faculty, staff, students, and alumni who help others in the communities around us. Last year, our campus colleagues raised $102,000, and we saw a 12% increase in donors compared with the previous year. We hope you will consider participating in this year’s campaign and help the next generation of students.

Through giving and volunteering, we can build a better future for our local community. We encourage you to visit UC Santa Barbara’s United Way website, attend a campus United Way presentation, or talk with your department’s United Way representative to learn more. Thank you for your extraordinary compassion, commitment, and generosity.

Sincerely,

Henry T. Yang
