Dear Members of our Campus Community,

Our previous Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Thomas Putnam, retired in July 2013 after six years of dedicated service to our campus. Since his retirement, Denise Stephens, our University Librarian, has provided exceptional leadership in launching the Enterprise Technology Services organization created by then-EVC Gene Lucas, following the recommendations of the Gartner Group. We are grateful for her ongoing work in this demanding and important role.

Following consultation with EVC David Marshall, our Academic Senate, and other members of our campus community, I am pleased to announce that we have now formed a search advisory committee for our next Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, who will lead our Enterprise Technology Services.

Dean Pierre Wiltzius has graciously agreed to serve as the chair of our search advisory committee. The members of the committee are listed below. We appreciate their willingness to devote their valuable time, energy, and wisdom to help our campus conduct a national search for this important position.

Sincerely,

Henry T. Yang
Chancellor
