Dear Colleagues:

In my campus memo of February 24, 2012, I shared with you that after seven years of extraordinary leadership as Dean of our Graduate Division, Professor Gale Morrison has decided to retire. Professor Carol Genetti has graciously agreed to serve as Acting Dean, effective June 30, 2012.

Following consultation with our Academic Senate and Executive Vice Chancellor Gene Lucas, I have formed a search advisory committee to identify candidates for the position of Graduate Division Dean. Dr. Michael Witherell, Vice Chancellor for Research, has graciously agreed to chair this important committee, and the members are listed below. We want to express our appreciation in advance to all of our search advisory committee members for their willingness to contribute their valuable time and wisdom to benefit our campus.
