TO THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY

Dear Colleagues:

A few short months ago, I informed you that Robert Kuntz, Associate Chancellor for Budget and Planning, would be retiring at the end of June.  I am currently working with our colleagues to form a search committee for this important position.  While the search for Bob’s successor is underway, I am pleased to announce that Todd Lee has graciously accepted the appointment as Acting Associate Chancellor of Budget and Planning, effective July 1, 2001.

Over the past 12 years, Todd has been carefully and closely overseeing our operating and capital budgets.  In his early years at UCSB, he had the difficult task of guiding us through a period of significant budget cuts.  In recent years, Todd has provided important leadership as we have enjoyed a better budget climate.  In addition to his role as Budget Director, Todd has served as the Acting Assistant Provost for Budget for the College of Letters and Science for over three years.  He continues in that role today, providing valuable assistance to the Provost and Deans in L&S.

I am delighted that Todd is willing to assume the responsibilities of this important acting position, and I appreciate his past and continuing service and leadership at UCSB.

Sincerely,

Henry T. Yang
Chancellor
