To the Campus Community

Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce that Aaron Ettenberg, Professor of Psychology, has accepted an appointment as Acting Provost of the College of Letters and Science.
Dr. Ettenberg has a distinguished research record in the area of psychopharmacology, focusing on the neurological bases of reinforcement and motivation. He is an Elected Fellow of the American Psychological Association. He also has an outstanding record of service to the campus, including the chairing of the Psychology Department from 1996-2000 and a term as Acting Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs in 1996.

Dr. Ettenberg received his Ph.D. from McGill University in 1980 and joined the UCSB faculty in 1982. Since then he has received much recognition for his contributions to the campus, including the Harold J.Plous Memorial Award for 1987-1988 and the Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award, Division of Mathematical, Life, and Physical Sciences, in 1993. We are pleased to have the leadership of such an outstanding scientist, teacher, and campus citizen for the College of Letters and Science.
