TO THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY
Dear Colleagues:
I am very pleased to report that The Olson Company has been selected to be the developer for the first phase of for-sale faculty housing on the North Campus. This phase consists of 72 units.
The Olson Company was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Seal Beach, with regional offices in San Ramon, Oxnard, and San Diego. The company has worked successfully with more than 65 cities throughout California to provide market-rate and affordable housing units that are designed to complement the communities in which they are built. The company has developed a team of highly skilled staff covering all facets of urban housing development, and has completed more than 6,000 homes. One of The Olson Company’s high priorities is to actively invite input and collaborate not only with the community that will occupy the new homes, but also with the surrounding neighborhoods. Currently they have projects that have either recently completed construction or are in construction in Ventura, Oxnard, and Camarillo.
Our campus will shortly be completing an agreement with Olson that will enable them to move forward with focus groups and preliminary design of the homes. I want to take this opportunity to thank and compliment all the members of our selection committee, who are listed below, for their diligent work on behalf of the campus.
